After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted each day to see my motivation for changing my behavior this helped considerably since quitting smoking is a decision one has to make day by day. Whenever you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.

As I saw the scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to replace eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I normally would not do for myself. Any time I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I will not say that I don't think about smoking from time to time and likely always will but I also prompt myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the money you would have used for buying smokes into a saving account and watch it grow.
